Family Pathways

A Family Systems Approach
Think of your family like a team — each person’s actions and feelings affect everyone else. A Family Systems perspective means:

-
Seeing the whole picture.
Instead of focusing only on one person’s behaviour or “problem,” I look at how everyone interacts. For example, a child’s school refusal isn’t just about them—it can reflect problems at school but also stress between siblings, parental worry, or unclear rules at home. -
Understanding patterns.
Families tend to fall into habits: one person may always play peacemaker, another the critic. These roles can feel comfortable but also get you stuck. By noticing those patterns— a couple that avoids tough conversations or a child who pushes back — we can gently shift them. -
Changing together.
Real change happens when the family learns new ways to connect. Maybe you practice asking curious questions instead of making assumptions. Small shifts by each member create a ripple effect, strengthening trust and resilience across the whole family.
I help you spot and reshape these invisible patterns, creating healthier, more supportive relationship.
