Family Pathways
1
Children, Adolescents & Young Adults
Helping them thrive
Young people, often need extra support with challenging emotions and life experiences. I offer evidence-based counselling approaches specifically tailored to help your child – whether they are navigating school, family dynamics, or early adulthood. My support focuses on issues such as:
-
Overcoming school refusal or academic challenges
-
Developing social skills for school and building friendships
-
Addressing emotional difficulties such as anxiety, grief, and depression
By addressing these challenges and ensuring your child receives the appropriate guidance, we can help build their confidence, emotional strength, and resilience at any stage of life.
2
Parents & Families
Optimising Family Wellbeing
Childhood, adolescence and young adulthood are times of amazing growth and opportunity. Each is a key stage for developing essential life skills like emotional regulation, problem-solving, and managing life transitions.

Parents play a vital role in supporting their children during this time, though the responsibility can often feel overwhelming—especially for parents of children with disabilities.

Individual and family counselling can provide valuable support by helping parents and families to:
-
Reduce stress
-
Build effective coping strategies
-
Strengthen emotional connections
-
Improve overall family functioning

Research-Backed Resources for Parents
Supporting your parenting journey
As parents, we want a calmer, more connected home environment so that family life runs more smoothly and with less stress.

There’s a vast amount of parenting advice, making it hard to know what really works. As a professional trained in a variety of evidence-based strategies, such as Emotion Coaching, I can offer support that leads to real, lasting change in your parenting journey. I specialize in helping parents:

-
Understand and respond to their child’s behaviours and emotional needs.
-
Strengthen the parent-child relationship
-
Effectively manage daily routines.
Evidence-based programs offer parents a map to help them support their children's development and wellbeing.

Co-Parents
From conflict to co-operation
Co-parent counselling supports separated or divorced parents in building a positive, collaborative co-parenting relationship. As a facilitator of the Young Children in Divorce program, I use a child-inclusive approach to ensure that children’s well-being remains central in co-parenting decisions.

I am also an accredited mediator with the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS), offering a neutral space where parents can negotiate and create effective parenting plans.

Couples Counselling
Re-establishing connection
In families, the couple relationship can often take a back seat to the demands of parenting, work and day-to-day challenges, and can bear the brunt of major life transitions. Many couples are sandwiched between caring for children and older generations. Communication gaps, emotional distance and reduced intimacy can be the result.

From a Family Systems perspective, couples counselling can help you understand why you behave the way the do in your romantic relationships.
I am trained in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy approaches to assist couples strengthen their relationship. This includes couples whose conflict arises from parenting or child-related disagreements.
